The winemakers of the Kurdějov appellation, together with experts and professionals in the field of viticulture and wine production, have prepared a pilot project for the first functional Romanesque-style appellation in the Czech Republic. It is a pyramid system of classification of their wines and vineyards, controlled by an independent committee of professional evaluators, under the auspices of the Association of Sommeliers of the Czech Republic (ASČR).
The whole concept of controlling the guarantee of origin and classification of wines is organized by the association Apelace CZ, z.s., and the rules that govern it are defined on the website www.apelacecz.cz.
